Description: This clay modeling class invites 2nd - 5th graders to explore their creative side while nurturing their instinctive curiosity about animals. The class begins at home with backyard and farm animals, then takes the whole school year to ‘travel’ the world in search of exotic animals to sculpt in clay.

The fall semester will cover backyard animals, farm animals, North American and Arctic animals. The spring semester will cover Europe, Asia, Oceania, Africa, the Ocean and South America. Fall and spring semester classes are independent of each other; there are no prerequisites for either class.

Classroom discussions about habitats, endangered status and interesting animal facts are a natural outcome of the collaborative atmosphere and multiage group.

Snacks and all materials are provided.
